A Podcast is a way of publishing audio content - that is, recorded speech or music - on the Internet and lets subscribers easily keep track of newly published items through RSS Feeds. Subscribers use a program, also known as a "podcatcher," which can read the feed and play the files on demand. Think of a podcast like recorded radio that you can listen to whenever you desire! You can also transfer the audio files to a portable mp3 player (such as an iPod) or burn the files to a CD for later listening. Podcasting at Horseshoe Drive Here at Horseshoe Drive, we are using podcasting to distribute our weekly sermons to you and the rest of the world for your listening pleasure. You can listen to the sermon online as a streaming mp3 file or use a free podcast reader (a "podcatcher") such as iTunes. The advantage of having a podcatcher installed is that you can "subscribe" to our podcast and set it to automatically download or alert you each time a new sermon is added. To subscribe using iTunes, click here. [You must have iTunes already installed for this link to work.] If you don't have a podcatcher installed, don't worry! You can still listen to our sermons in mp3 format!
